Ham Shack  from the picturesque Green Mountains in Stamford, Vermont. Stamford is a border town, two towns north of North Adams, Mass. famous for " Sprague Capacitors " near US Route 8 and US route 100,  a north/south corridor. Our ham shack  is  exactly 12.4 miles line of sight, due north of Mt. Greylock  ( elevation 3,491ft.) the highest point in Massachusetts.   We are in a small hollow, elevation 1600 ft., on the side of Dutch Hill , over 3000 ft. high, on the southwest side. At 1600 feet we are still 5 to 10 degrees colder than the normal terrain, which makes it  perfectly temperate in the summer, but quite cold with very deep snow in the winter. more on, Dutch Hill, Click Here Fall Foliage, 09 OCT 2K
