Installing Microsoft Office 2000

1. First defrag the partition you will be installing to.  A full install may require xxx Mb.

2. Close any major programs.

3. Insert the #1 first Office 2000 CD in your computer. A window should come up welcoming you to Windows Office 2000 Installation. If not go to your CD in Windows Explorer and double click setup and click " Next ".

4. A window prompting for name, organization, etc. comes up. A first name is fine you really don't need anything else.

5. Next, dot , accepting the license agreement.

6. Enter your serial #, with caps on. Then turn caps off.

7. Next press Custom for Installation type. 

8. At the top. Only change the first letter of the directory structure.  For example  C:/program files/Microsoft Office   to  F:/program files/Microsoft Office.  You might have to repeat this scenario someday  ( see #7 here <<<<>>>> ) , when installing another different operating system or repairing a operating system.

9. If you have the space, left mouse click Microsoft Office, at the top and click " Run All From My Computer ". This is the only way  you will install every thing. Otherwise only parts of all categories will be installed. For example, I install only certain categories. I left mouse click Outlook, Power Point and Access and click " not available "to each.  Then I click Word, Excel, Front Page, Office Tools and Converters and Filters saying to each " Run All From My Computer ". Press Next.

10. Press Install now. It will take 10 to 45 minutes depending on how much you selected and your computer speed. 

11. Insert the #2 second Office 2000 CD in your computer. If it doesn't autorun go to your CD in Windows Explorer and double click setup and click " Next ". I recommend selecting all of MS Publisher for Windows, Office Tools, and Converters and Filters. The other programs are optional to you.

12. At the end I recommend re-booting. 

     At anytime you may go to Control Panel, Add-Remove programs and highlight and click Microsoft Office, Repair, change and add or remove any parts.
