Tips on handling and buying CD Writers and Blanks.

Handling all CD's

   1. Never lay on any surface with data side down. The label side must always be down, to avoid collecting scratches which will eventually make the CD worthless. We normally tend to lay them down so we may see the label.    No, No just one little grain of sand or dirt can cause quite a scratch to the data side!

2. Never expose to direct sunlight. If in a jewel case they may wrap from the heat.

3. As they are Aluminum ( non ferrous ) and plastic they may be stored close to monitors.

Handling Home made CD's

   1. These CD's are made of even softer plastic and may be wrecked much faster by ignoring Rule #1 above.

2. When writing or labeling only use a permanent marker pen ( such as a Sharpie ). A water based pen will eventually wreck the CD.
