Home Brew, Sling Shot Launching Tool
To build the launcher I bought four items at Wal Mart; a Crossman Slingshot, Zebco 404 fishing Reel, 1 Oz. sinkers and some extra, small diameter 15 pound line. Take the slingshot to an automotive parts store and purchase two more items ; small neoprene tubing, and two small hose clamps. The tubing I. D. should match the slingshot arm O. D. By slitting the tubing and mounting the reel to sling shot with hose clamps, one unique super tool results. Used or not used, I would replace the surgical tubing at least yearly. New tubing replacement kits are stocked by Wal Mart. Please follow all the safety warnings from the slingshot manufacturer! About a year later after selling the idea on the air to many people, an article appeared in QST. For a lot of fun, carry it around with you and ask normal people what they think its for ! Slingshots are outlawed in some states. BTW; Often, the one ounce sinker will blast through any foliage and return within reach ! Dip the sinkers in paint that will show easily.
